This original painting, “Condong Sugar Mill” captures the iconic Sugar Mill of Murwillumbah, NSW, Australia, just before the devestating floods of 2022. The intensity of the ominous, dramatic sky above the Sugar Mill goes unnoticed by the people in the bowls club. The bowls club is a popular watering hole for locals and was totally decimated by the floods. The painting also captures competing histories in the region between land use and land preservation.
